The following are some of my favorite plants. A few of the plants also represent a form of "wish list" - flowers, trees and shrubs I've never grown before in Florida that I would like to experiment with in the new house. A quick scan of the list reveals my preference for showy, flowering plants. I've also included some "Not So Favorite Plants". These are the plants I put into the "cast iron" category - tough, functional, able to take extreme levels of neglect, widely used in Florida gardens. However, they are rarely the ones I would point to with pride or accomplishment.
